Shoot Sharp Video and Stills with Your Smartphone
If there’s one technique that video experts recommend when shooting video using a smartphone, it’s to shoot video horizontally. Image orientation is particularly important when uploading to YouTube, Vimeo, Vine, SnapChat and other video sites, and if you shoot vertically, your video will contain those black bars on the side that are distracting for viewers. However, if you make this mistake don’t freak out, there is a free app that you can download that will rotate your video orientation to remove the ugly black bars. The next biggest issue most smartphone users have when taking stills and especially video is camera shake or vibrations. To make sure that your video or photos do not suffer from camera shake (unless you’re trying to mimic the Blair Witch Project) try using a portable tripod to give your photo/video increased stability. Larmon has a variety of mini tripods that are perfect for video and still shooting from your camera phone. Check out these nifty tripods at LarmonPhoto.com.
