Composition Theory – What is Dynamic Symmetry?

FOTO FORUM Camera Video, Foto Forum AZ Posted on June 5, 2017 by JeffJune 5, 2017

Photography is its most basic element stems from Algebra, Chemistry and Optical Physics.  With digital photography we have kind of replaced Chemistry with Computer Science. Let’s face it, most of us are not fans of mathematics; and, many are shocked to learn how large a role math plays in photography.  Algebraic elements are at the core root to photography. Reverting to film base we know that there are two types of film that exist – negative and positive.   The same applies to photographic paper.  Hence we print negatives using negative paper (two negatives equal a positive). So it shouldn’t surprise anyone to learn … Continue reading →

FOTO FORUM Camera Video, Foto Forum AZ Posted on December 27, 2015 by JeffDecember 29, 2015

Don’t worry – this isn’t an infomercial for stock photography that is designed to sell you a guaranteed get-rich quick program. If you’re looking to place – or keep – one foot in the photography industry while working full-time, there are a number of ways you can earn additional income (and work credits) without forgoing your current job. Have you ever wondered where professional advertising agencies and marketing companies get many of the images used to support their client’s marketing campaigns?  Yes, many campaigns do call for actual photo shoots, but many images are purchased from 27stock agencies. There is … Continue reading →

Our KEH Buying Event is coming up July 16th through 19th, and this time the process will be a little different than in past events, but the same as it was in April. There are no appointments for this event. Instead, you will simply bring your camera gear to Foto Forum, leave it with us, and we will provide you with a claim ticket after collecting your name, phone number, and email address. Once KEH has reviewed your gear, we will call you with their offer. You will then have three options: Accept the cash offer, accept Foto Forum store credit plus 10%, or decline the offer and pick up your gearA few important notes: This is not a same-day, wait-in-the-lobby type of event. Please do not plan to stay while your gear is being evaluated. Drop it off, receive your claim ticket, and we will contact you once the review is complete. Also, we will not be itemizing or inventorying individual gear at drop-off. If you would like a personal record of what you brought in, we strongly encourage you to document your gear before leaving it with us.Gear drop-off begins Wednesday, July 15th, at 9:00 AM, and we will stop accepting gear on Saturday, July 18th, at 3:00 PM sharp. That is the cutoff, and there will be no exceptions. Please also note that the store credit option is available only for Foto Forum, not KEH.If you have any questions, feel free to call the shop at 602-263-0084.We look forward to seeing what treasures you bring through the door. 📷Remember: Keep on creating. The image you captured today can definitely change the world tomorrow.Remember: Be kind to yourself and others.Be amazing stewards on the trail. And we have to ask, What are you waiting for? Alright, my friends, if you’ve been waiting for a new wide-angle workhorse in that “16–35-ish” lane, Tamron rolled up with a big grin: the Tamron 16–30mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 😎📸This is the kind of lens that makes you want to walk outside, point it at literally anything, and whisper, “cinematic” like a weirdo. 😂🎬A few highlights (without turning this into a tax document):* Constant f/2.8 because low-light and drama are non-negotiable 🌙✨* Ridiculously light for what it is: 440g (Sony E) / 450g (Nikon Z) 💪* Close focus down to 0.19m (7.5”) at the wide end—hello exaggerated perspective and “why does this look so cool?” shots 😮‍💨* 67mm filters (your wallet just sighed with relief) 😅* Internal zoom + fast VXD autofocus + Tamron Lens Utility support for creator-friendly tweaks 🎥And the value? It starts around $929, which is exactly why Tamron keeps living rent-free in people’s gear bags. 💸🔥My friends, don’t forget to have a fantastically blessed day wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, and never stop being amazing.Remember: Keep on creating. Because the images you capture today can definitely change the world tomorrow!Remember: Be kind to yourself and others.Be amazing stewards on the trail. And we have to ask, What are you waiting for? Friendly reminder, my friends: Foto Forum will be closed Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. 🇺🇸📸We will be open during normal business hours on Friday, July 3, and we will reopen for normal business hours on Monday, July 6.A little history nugget for the day: the Fourth of July celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Fun fact, despite what many of us were taught in school, most of the signing actually happened later. History likes to keep things spicy. So if you need film, memory cards, batteries, chargers, cleaning supplies, or any “oh no, I forgot that thing” gear before the holiday weekend, stop in and see us ahead of time. If you have questions, feel free to contact the shop by phone or through social media.Have a safe, joyful, and meaningful Fourth of July weekend, my friends. My friends, don’t forget to have a fantastically blessed day wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, and never stop being amazing.Remember: Keep on creating.
